Web Synergies in the UAE - Forging new connections & leveraging new opportunities

The Senior Management team of Web Synergies recently concluded a tour of the UAE as part of the UAE-Singapore Business Council delegation. A high-level delegation from Singapore, chaired by Dr. Brian Shegar, President of the UAE Singapore Business Council, accompanied by representatives from a select group of Singapore-based companies, visited the UAE to strengthen further the trade & economic relations between the two countries, and to leverage the connectivity of both countries to explore viable commercial opportunities in their respective regions.

Web Synergies explored the possibilities of extending our wide range of cutting-edge IT solutions & services to local businesses in the Middle East, MNCs with a significant presence in the region, as well as acting as a partner to Singaporean companies and Singaporean start-ups that could benefit from our strategic support in the GCC - a unique value proposition that Web Synergies can offer as a company headquartered in Singapore.

The total trade between the UAE and Singapore increased from AED15 billion in 2016 to AED18.3 billion in 2019, translating into a compound annual growth rate of 6.8 percent. While the pandemic and its consequences pushed that figure down by 33% in 2020, Mr. Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Chamber, said - "Nevertheless, we expect it rebound and surpass the 2019 levels in the years to come, especially as our economic relationship has further been strengthened in 2019 when our two brotherly nations signed a comprehensive partnership,"

Dr. Shegar spoke about the objectives of the UAE Singapore Business Council, which are, to provide a platform for member companies and individuals to connect amongst themselves and capitalize on the important roles that the UAE and Singapore can play as regional powers.

The Council also aims to provide a forum in Singapore, where individuals and businesses with a mutual interest in UAE-Singapore commercial relations can meet, discuss and exchange ideas and information, and organize activities such as seminars, conferences, trade missions and networking sessions to promote greater awareness of the business environment in the two countries.
