Job Overview

The Senior SAP Support Consultant – SCM ensures stable and efficient SAP SCM operations in Japan while contributing to regional and global SAP initiatives. This role combines day-to-day SAP support with active participation in SAP S/4HANA projects and transformation programmes.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Operational Support (SCM)

• Provide 2nd and 3rd level SAP SCM support (MM, logistics, interfaces) through ServiceNow
• Own incidents end-to-end, including root cause analysis and resolution
• Support critical business periods such as month-end, go-live, and cutover
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders during major incidents

Functional Expertise

• Deliver SCM expertise across Procurement & Materials Management (MM)
• Support supply chain, logistics, inventory, and replenishment processes
• Act as a liaison between business users, IT, and global teams
• Identify risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities

Project & Transformation Delivery

• Support SAP S/4HANA rollouts, upgrades, and global template deployments
• Participate in requirements gathering, design validation, SIT/UAT, go-live, and hypercare
• Ensure smooth transition from project delivery to RUN support

Stakeholder & Change Management

• Collaborate with Japan business teams and global stakeholders
• Communicate effectively in Japanese and English
• Support change management and controlled production deployments

Job Requirements

Experience

• 6+ years of SAP support and/or project experience
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP SCM (MM, logistics)
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or large transformation programmes
• Experience in global or multi-regional SAP environments

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong end-to-end supply chain process knowledge
• Exposure to EDI, CPI, and IDocs is advantageous
• Retail, Fashion, or Consumer Goods industry experience preferred
• SAP SD knowledge is an advantage

• Ability to work under pressure in operational environments
• Proactive, accountable, and adaptable mindset
