About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA OTC Solution Architect to lead OTC solution architecture for Japan deployment and global template enhancements within a large-scale automotive manufacturing programme.

The role will focus on solution architecture, template governance, Japan localisation, integration management and roll-out leadership. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of SAP experience, deep expertise in the SAP SD module, strong architectural leadership across the OTC value stream and experience working with global SAP S/4HANA templates.

Experience with Japanese business processes and the ability to work with Japanese business stakeholders and global IT leadership will be important for this role.

Role Objectives

• Lead SAP S/4HANA deployment and global template enhancements for large-scale manufacturing programmes in Japan.
• Drive solution architecture, template governance, localisation design and implementation.
• Ensure the Japan deployment remains aligned with global template standards while addressing local business requirements.

Core Specialties

The successful candidate should have strong experience in:

• End-to-end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture.
• Deep expertise in SAP SD (Sales, Delivery, Billing, Pricing, Credit Management and Rebates).
• Integration with FICO, MM/LES and PP.
• Interface management using IDoc, API/Data, EDI and CPI/PI/PO.
• Preparation and review of technical and functional documentation, including:
• Process flows.
• Test scripts.
• Functional specifications.
• Architectural leadership across the Order-to-Cash (OTC) value stream.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead solution discovery and architecture design for Japanese expansion.
• Ensure consistency of the global template while incorporating Japan-specific localisation requirements.
• Act as the design authority for solution governance and architecture decisions.
• Manage integrated architectures across SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Liaise with Japanese business stakeholders and global IT leadership.
• Drive roll-out programmes through Blueprint, Build, Test, Cut-Over and Go-Live stages.
• Ensure compliance with Japanese statutory and auditing requirements.
• Provide architectural direction across the OTC value stream and support implementation teams throughout the programme.

Industry Experience

Essential

• Experience in large-scale manufacturing or automotive environments.

Preferred

Experience in the following areas will be an advantage:

• Discrete manufacturing.
• Supply chain.
• Logistics.
• Japanese standards and business practices.

Prerequisites

• Strong experience in global template governance and architecture decision-making.
• Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA best practices.
• Ability to communicate complex architecture decisions clearly to senior leadership.
• Strong architectural leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-country deployment using a single SAP S/4HANA global template.
• Experience working with Japanese OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
• SAP S/4HANA certification.
• Native Japanese language skills and English proficiency are preferred.
