About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA P2P Solution Architect to lead SAP S/4HANA deployment and global template enhancements for large-scale automotive manufacturing programmes in Japan.

The role will focus on solution architecture, global template governance, Japan localisation and build implementation, with responsibility for integrating SAP and non-SAP systems. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes, deep knowledge of SAP MM, Procurement and Accounts Payable (AP) modules, and experience with large-scale global programmes and multi-country deployments.

Native Japanese and English proficiency are required, along with a strong understanding of Japanese business processes and manufacturing standards.

Role Objectives

• Lead SAP S/4HANA deployment and global template enhancements for large-scale manufacturing programmes in Japan.
• Drive solution architecture, template governance, localisation design and build implementation.
• Ensure global template standards are strengthened while meeting Japan-specific business and statutory requirements.

• Ability to create configuration documents, process flows, test scripts and functional specifications.
• Strong SAP MM knowledge, particularly for EWM integration.

Main Responsibilities

• Lead Solution Discovery, Standard Conformity Workshops and Architecture Design for Japanese expansion.
• Strengthen global templates and introduce Japan-specific localisation.
• Act as the design authority, approve solution deviations and ensure governance compliance.
• Define integrated architectures across SAP and non-SAP systems, including MES, PMC, legacy systems and third-party tools.
• Liaise with Japanese business stakeholders, global process owners and IT leadership.
• Drive roll-out programmes across Blueprint, Build, Test, Cut-Over and Go-Live stages.
• Ensure compliance with Japanese statutory, auditing and control requirements.
• Provide architectural direction throughout the implementation and support effective build execution.

Industry Experience

Essential

• Experience in large-scale manufacturing or automotive environments.

• Strong experience in global template governance and architecture decision-making.

• Ability to articulate complex architecture decisions clearly to senior leadership.
• Proven achievements in multi-vendor global deployment programmes.
• Strong stakeholder management and architectural leadership capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-country deployment using a single SAP S/4HANA global template.
• Experience working with Japanese OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
• SAP S/4HANA certification.
