About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA R2R/CO Solution Architect to lead SAP S/4HANA deployment and global template enhancements for large-scale automotive manufacturing programmes in Japan.

The role will focus on solution architecture, global template governance, localisation design and integration across SAP and non-SAP systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong SAP Controlling expertise, deep knowledge of manufacturing cost flows, experience with global roll-outs and a strong understanding of Japanese business processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP S/4HANA deployment, solution discovery, standard conformity workshops and architecture design for Japanese expansion programmes.
• Lead global template enhancements and ensure consistency with R2R/CO architectures.
• Define and govern solution architecture, including localisation requirements for Japanese business processes.
• Act as the design authority, approving solution deviations and ensuring compliance with template governance.
• Define and manage integrated architectures across SAP and non-SAP systems, including MES, PMC, legacy systems and third-party tools.
• Provide clear architectural direction and support the development team in moving solutions through build implementation.
• Liaise with Japanese business stakeholders, global process owners and IT leadership.
• Lead roll-out programmes across Blueprint, Build, Test, Cut-Over and Go-Live stages.
• Ensure compliance with Japanese business processes, statutory requirements, auditing requirements and control requirements.
• Provide architectural leadership across core value streams.

Core Technical Expertise

The successful candidate should have:

• End-to-end SAP S/4HANA solution architecture experience.
• Strong SAP S/4HANA implementation and support project experience.
• Strong configuration and support experience across SAP Controlling (CO), including:
  • Cost Center Accounting (CO-CCA)
  • Profit Center Accounting (CO-PCA)
  • Internal Orders
  • Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC)
  • Profitability Analysis (CO-PA)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and operating cost flows.
• Strong knowledge of CO integration with Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Production Planning (PP) and Financial Accounting (FI).
• Experience providing architectural leadership across core value streams.

Industry Experience

Essential:

• Large-scale manufacturing or automotive industry experience.

Additional strengths:

• Discrete manufacturing.
• Supply chain and production planning.
• Quality, logistics and cost management.
• Japanese manufacturing standards and practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-country deployments using a single SAP S/4HANA global template.
• Previous experience working with Japanese OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
• SAP S/4HANA certification.

Language Requirements

• Native-level Japanese.
• Business-level English.
