Role Overview

Web Synergies is seeking an experienced SAP MDM Consultant to support a leading customer in the automobile parts industry. This hybrid role is based in Otemachi, Tokyo, with one position supporting the Japan region and another supporting the US region.

The successful candidate will manage SAP Master Data processes, maintain data quality and governance, support end-to-end testing activities, and collaborate closely with business and technical teams to deliver reliable SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Master Data Management & Functional Responsibilities

• Manage and support SAP Master Data, including Material, Vendor, Customer and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Configure and maintain Master Data Management (MDM) processes.
• Demonstrate integration knowledge across SAP MM, SD and FI modules.
• Ensure data quality, governance and consistency across systems.
• Perform data migration, data cleansing and data validation activities.
• Gather business requirements and recommend effective SAP solutions.

Testing Responsibilities

• Prepare test strategies, test plans and test scenarios.
• Execute Unit Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Regression Testing.
• Create and maintain test cases, test scripts and test data.
• Validate master data throughout testing cycles.
• Log, monitor and track defects using tools such as qTest, JIRA and SAP Solution Manager.
• Perform data reconciliation and post-migration validation.

Technical Responsibilities

• Work with SAP MDM and SAP MDG solutions.
• Support integration using IDocs and APIs.
• Assist with system enhancements and custom developments.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with SAP Master Data Management covering Material, Vendor and Customer Master Data.
• Hands-on experience integrating with SAP MM, SD and FI modules.
• Practical experience in SAP testing processes.
• Strong understanding of data migration, data governance and data quality.
• Experience using defect management tools such as qTest, JIRA or HP ALM.
• Business-level English communication skills.
• Japanese language skills are desirable but not mandatory.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with SAP Master Data Governance (MDG).
• Exposure to automation testing tools such as Tosca.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
