Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Bilingual Application Solution Architect with deep expertise in application modernisation, migration to Azure PaaS, and web application hosting. The role requires strong architectural capability, hands-on Azure experience, and the ability to lead and guide technical teams. Candidates must have a solid understanding of application architecture, dependencies, integrations, and basic database concepts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage development teams of more than five members, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
• Analyse application architecture, integrations, and dependencies to define migration strategy and target-state design.
• Host, configure, optimise, and modernise applications on the Azure PaaS platform.
• Design Azure Landing Zones and define Azure target-state solution architecture aligned to enterprise standards.
• Assess application performance before and after migration and implement optimisations.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Data Platform, DevOps, and Integration teams to ensure adoption of best practices.
• Containerise web applications and web services and guide hosting on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Azure Container Instances (ACI).
• Work closely with internal and customer stakeholders to understand migration requirements and propose suitable solutions.
• Prepare solution presentations and effectively communicate architecture and migration plans to customer teams.
• Troubleshoot and support Azure PaaS components as needed during migration and post-go-live.

Technical Skills (Primary)

• Hands-on experience in web application development and modern web stacks.
• Strong experience with Azure PaaS services including:
  • Azure App Service
  • Azure Functions
  • Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Azure Container Instances (ACI)
• Good understanding of application hosting, optimisation, autoscaling and cost management on Azure.
• Ability to analyse application dependencies, design migration pathways and run compatibility assessments.
• Familiarity with containerisation concepts (Docker) and Kubernetes hosting / operational practices.
• Basic database knowledge — connectivity, configuration, and maintenance for relational DBs.
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL and cloud equivalents (Azure SQL, Azure Database for MySQL/Postgres preferred).
• Understanding of relational database concepts: tables, indexes, queries, stored procedures and relationships.

Secondary Skills

• Strong troubleshooting experience across Azure PaaS services and networking/identity integrations.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines for cloud deployments.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Prometheus/Grafana).
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud-hosted applications (RBAC, managed identities, key vaults, secrets management).
• Experience integrating applications with messaging and integration platforms (Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management).

Soft Skills

• Excellent customer communication and stakeholder management skills — able to present solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Positive attitude, collaborative working style, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving capability with the ability to propose alternate/mitigation solutions under constraints.
• Ability to work well within cross-functional teams and guide engineers to deliver to architecture intent.
• Skilled in preparing and presenting solution demonstrations, architecture diagrams and migration roadmaps.
