About the Role

We are looking for a Bilingual Principal IT Business Analyst to support our client’s commercial technology landscape in Japan. In this strategic role, you will work closely with senior business leaders to translate commercial strategies and business requirements into effective digital solutions.

You will help shape and drive the commercial technology roadmap across Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, E-commerce and SAP, ensuring these platforms work together to support a seamless commercial ecosystem.

A key part of the role will be leading the planning and execution of the TSA (Transition Service Agreement) exit. You will support the transition from shared legacy systems to an independent target architecture, ensuring the Japanese commercial technology environment is successfully migrated and deployed with minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering

• Act as the primary IT liaison for the Japan Commercial leadership team.
• Identify technology gaps and drive initiatives that support the digital transformation agenda.
• Lead discovery and solution design activities for new product launches, considering Japanese market-specific commercial and regulatory requirements.
• Drive digital and AI-enabled commercial initiatives.

Commercial Technology Management

• Lead the optimisation of Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud, including CRM workflows and automated marketing journeys.
• Support a unified view of customers across field sales and digital marketing teams.
• Oversee the integration of B2B and B2C E-commerce platforms, including user experience, local payment gateway integrations and order management.
• Work as the functional bridge between commercial teams and SAP teams to ensure accurate integration of orders, pricing and inventory with back-end financial and supply chain processes.
• Support alignment between commercial front-end applications and SAP SD/MM functional processes.

TSA Exit and Target Architecture

• Partner with global and regional IT teams to lead TSA exit planning for Japan’s commercial applications.
• Support the separation of shared legacy systems and the transition towards an independent target application architecture.
• Map the current as-is environment and contribute to the design of the to-be target architecture for the Japanese market.
• Own functional validation, testing governance and localised deployment strategies for Salesforce, E-commerce and SAP applications.
• Manage the regional project portfolio while ensuring alignment with global IT standards and Japan-specific local-for-local requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of experience in IT Business Analysis, supported by a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Preferably 3 years of experience working in a Principal or Lead capacity.
• Strong experience in Life Sciences, Pharma or MedTech is highly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Salesforce.com (CRM) and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
• Solid understanding of E-commerce platforms.
• Strong understanding of SAP functional modules, particularly SD/MM.
• Expert-level understanding of commercial Sales and Marketing processes, including:
  • Lead-to-Order.
  • Campaign Management.
  • Field Force Effectiveness.
• Understanding of GxP, HIPAA and Japanese PMDA data privacy standards.
• Native/Near-native Japanese language skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
